King of Opera is King of the Hill (aka King of the Castle) on your iPad, on steroids, and in an opera setting. It’s a four-player action game where you control a wildly behaving tenor opera singer. You use him to ram other tenors off the stage to steal the spotlight and make him sing to be King.

We, the guys at Tuokio, conceive games by drawing inspiration from things that matter to us. From the warmly-remembered childhood family board game nights and from the immediacy, addictivity and simplicity of coin-op arcade games.

With King of Opera we wanted to offer families and friends a game that would allow them to “play loud" (laugh, taunt, shout and sing) while sitting around a table at home, at friend's house, at a cafe or in the office, and socializing. We aimed to make a game that is enjoyable by gamers and non-gamers, both young and old.

To meet these targets, King of Opera was made playable by up to four players while sitting face-to-face, the game's controls were reduced to a single (virtual) button, its gameplay was made non-violent yet into the form of a wacky battle, and the setting was chosen as not to offend anyone yet be weird enough to amuse most everyone.

This is the Premiere Version of the game with crystallized gameplay, an unadulterated experience. Ultimately, we seek to offer continuity and long-term value through free and premium updates. To that end, a comprehensive plan of future updates to entice and surprise loyal players has been made.
